Pyometra Awareness
Pyometra is a serious, life threatening infection in the uterus. It can occur in young to middle aged intact female dogs although it's most common in older dogs.
Symptoms
Symptoms include but are not limited to lethargy, decreased appetite, and increased thirst, Sometimes they have vaginal discharge but not always.
As always, if you have any concerns about your pet, please reach out to your veterinarian. If your dog is exhibiting any of these symptoms and your veterinarian is NOT available, please do NOT wait, reach out to your local after hours pet ER.
